British writer Holly Miranda Smale, born 7 December 1981, wrote the Geek Girl series. Geek Girl, the first book, won the 2014 Waterstones Children's Book Prize and made the shortlist for the 2013 Roald Dahl Funny Prize; HarperCollins published the final book, Forever Geek, in March 2017. Smale's first adult novel, titled The Cassandra Complex in the UK and Cassandra in Reverse in the US, was Reese's Book Club's June 2023 pick and a BBC Radio 2 Book Club pick.
