Josh Malerman is an American horror novelist who also works as a songwriter, film director and producer and cartoonist, and plays rhythm guitar in the rock band The High Strung. The post-apocalyptic novel Bird Box (2014) inspired the Netflix film of the same name. In 2020 Malerman founded the production company Spin a Black Yarn with manager Ryan Lewis.
