Born in London on 9 July 1933, Oliver Sacks was a British neurologist, naturalist and historian of science as well as a writer, and died on 30 August 2015. Sacks took a medical degree from The Queen's College, Oxford, in 1958, then moved to the United States, interning at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco and completing a residency in neurology and neuropathology at UCLA. Migraine (1970) is the first catalogued book, followed by Awakenings (1973), A Leg to Stand On (1984), The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat (1985), Seeing Voices (1989), An Anthropologist on Mars (1995) and Uncle Tungsten (2001).
