Yukito Ayatsuji is the pen name of Naoyuki Uchida, a Japanese writer of mystery and horror born December 23, 1960. Ayatsuji co-founded the Honkaku Mystery Writers Club of Japan and is a leading voice of the new traditionalist movement in Japanese mystery fiction. The Decagon House Murders (1987), the debut novel, ranks No. 8 on the Top 100 Japanese Mystery Novels of All Time. The Mill House Murders and The Labyrinth House Murders followed in 1988, and The Clock House Murders in 1991. Another is a further series, with manga editions listed. Ayatsuji is married to Fuyumi Ono, the fantasy and horror author of The Twelve Kingdoms, and minor planet 2001 RG46 was named after Ayatsuji in 2018.
