Chaos Walking is Patrick Ness's young adult science fiction series, set on a colonised planet where every living creature hears every other creature's thoughts as a constant stream of images, words and sound called the Noise. The name comes from a line in the first book: a man without a filter is chaos walking. Todd Hewitt and Viola Eade carry the three novels, The Knife of Never Letting Go (2008), The Ask and the Answer (2009) and Monsters of Men (2010), as the planet falls into war, and three short stories fill in around them.
