Hell Divers is a post-apocalyptic science fiction series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith. Two centuries after World War III poisoned the planet, what is left of humanity lives aboard ageing airships circling the globe in search of habitable ground, and the Hell Divers are the men and women who drop by parachute to the surface to scavenge the parts those ships need. The first book sends a dive team into a hostile zone called Hades after an electrical storm damages one of the two remaining lifeboats.
