Mark Haddon, born in Northampton in 1962, is an English novelist whose best known book is The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, published in 2003. Haddon has won the Whitbread Award, the Guardian Prize, a Commonwealth Writers' Prize and the Dolly Gray Children's Literature Award.
